Fightback editor, Alex Grant, was interviewed on the Jim Richards show on Toronto radio station CFRB Newstalk 1010 yesterday. Newstalk 1010 is a well-known right-wing talk radio station.  Alex talked about the #OccupyToronto movement and why it was gaining such traction at this particular period of time.  Listen to Alex go head-to-head with Richards who tries to discredit the movement.

As you can see, we have just redesigned www.marxist.ca. We hope you like the new design which should enable us to reach more and more workers and youth looking for a socialist alternative. In these times of recession and austerity, the ideas of Marxism have never been more valid. However, none of this work comes easy. Our new design, our regular print publications, plus all the ongoing organizing we do, is only possible due to the kind support and sacrifice of our subscribers. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our subscribers for making what we do possible, and for those who have not yet taken out a subscription, we hope that this will inspire you to do your bit to support the cause.

Activists in Toronto recently held a solidarity BBQ that raised over $1,400 for the efforts of the Pakistan Trade Union Defence Campaign (PTUDC) revolutionary flood relief campaign.  This was genuine international solidarity on display, with youth and workers from all sorts of communities coming together to assist the relief of workers and poor in Pakistan.  If you are interested in helping out with the PTUDC campaign, please click here .

This past summer, the Marxists in Quebec launched their French paper, La Riposte. La Riposte is a paper that speaks for all sections of the working class in Quebec; Fightback is proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the supporters of the International Marxist Tendency In Quebec in our struggle against the capitalist Canadian federal state. With the launch of their new website, www.marxiste.qc.ca, we're sure that we are now one step closer to a socialist Quebec, a socialist Canada, and a socialist world.

Capitalism is in crisis as never before; more than ever, workers and youth need a Marxist analysis to make sense of it all. For the last 10 years Fightback has been on the front line, giving activists the answers they need. Political events are changing rapidly and to make sure we meet the need, we have decided to make Fightback a monthly paper. In addition, we are revolutionizing our layout and design. The most noticeable addition is the colour front cover. Through this we hope to professionalize our message so we can reach more people and become a more prominent voice of the workers and oppressed.
