A successful Day One!

Today was day one! It was very rainy so tabling outside (our usual spot, where security does not bother us) was not an option. We decided to move our operation inside. Two of us walked around with copies of the strike pamphlet, as well as issues of the newest Communist Revolution. This proved tremendously successful—we distributed about a dozen leaflets, met four people eager to help with the campaign and got a bunch of new followers to our social media and words of support—in addition to selling $17 worth of literature. We usually began by asking people if they were in first year, what they studied, their name, etc.—then pitched the student strike idea to them and asked them what their thoughts were on the situation in Palestine. We will be hosting a meeting either later this week or early next week with all the other volunteers, to start to strategize with them about next steps for the campaign! If this is just day one, I am eager to see what tomorrow brings!
