As the crisis of capitalism deepens, the toll on Europe is felt with the increased polarization in society - to the left and to the right. The most recent example of this is in France with the rise of Melenchon and his political party “Rebellious France.” Across the channel in the UK, Conservative Prime Minister Theresa May has called an election for June 8th. This provides the opportunity for Labour, led by recently elected left-wing leader Jeremy Corbyn to defeat the traditional party of the bosses.

What are the lessons for the left in Canada? Join us for a presentation by international guest speaker Fred Weston, who is the managing editor of the influential In Defence of Marxism ( website. Fred's writings range from Maxist economics and philosphy, the revolutionary history of Russia and China, to the Arab Revolutions and European politics. He is a regular speaker and participant at political events throughout Europe and around the world.
