In early February of 2023, citizens of the United States – ‘land of the free and home of the brave’ – are told that they have a new menace to fear. Is it a nuclear-armed stealth drone? A killer robot that invades your home? Or a cyber attack that takes away your savings and steals your identity? The truth is far more terrifying: a balloon from China!
Social media has been alight with the figurative and literal fallout of a disaster arising from a train derailment in Ohio on February 3. The train, carrying industrial chemicals, derailed 50 miles north of Pittsburgh in the small town of East Palestine, home to roughly 5,000 people.
On Sept. 26 2022, news broke of explosions at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 natural gas pipelines, which run from Russia to Germany. The blasts rendered three of the four lines inoperable, and released vast quantities of gas into the Baltic Sea. Now, a bombshell exposé by a renowned American journalist has accused the US of orchestrating the attack.
Outrage at police violence has erupted once again across the United States. Protests began in Memphis on Friday, January 27, following the release of video showing the barbaric and fatal police beating of 29-year-old photographer and FedEx worker, Tyre Nichols. After being hit with a wave of retaliatory firings of union organizers across the U.S. in recent months, workers have responded in kind with a string of walkouts and strikes. In total, there have been at least 55 job actions […]
