Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, is in talks with the DOJ to get her 20-year sentence commuted. This is only a few months after Virginia Giuffre, public victim of the sex trafficking pair, took her own life. Over 200 women and girls have come forward about being brought into Jeffrey Epstein’s celebrity pedophile ring, many of whom were tormented and groomed by Ghislaine. Now, Ghislaine’s team is arguing that she was a tragic victim of Epstein, who, of course, is dead and cannot face justice. If Ghislaine is pardoned, zero participants in Epstein’s ring will have faced justice for their crimes.
Bolshevik Alexandra Kollontai once said: “Where, then, is that general ‘woman question’? Where is that unity of tasks and aspirations about which the feminists have so much to say? A sober glance at reality shows that such unity does not and cannot exist.” The women and girls recruited into Epstein’s sex trafficking ring were from working class backgrounds, while bourgeois women like Naomi Campbell and Hillary Clinton enjoyed close friendships with him and Ghislaine Maxwell collaborated with him. It was female attorney general Pamela Bondi who said there was no client list, effectively closing the case. None of these bourgeois women have done anything for Epstein’s victims—they either looked the other way, or assisted him. It was Epstein’s receptionist Maria Farmer who first alerted the FBI about him.
It reminds me of the U.S. women lawmakers who’ve criminalized abortion, knowing they could fly out to receive one and only working women will be forced to carry pregnancies to term. So yes, where is that general “woman question”? A sober look at reality reveals bourgeois women will always choose their own privileges than fight for working women.
