We are living through the most turbulent period in history. As the American empire declines, led by a decadent and senile ruling class—the so-called “Epstein class”—it is dragging the world into the abyss. This fall is provoking wars, trade wars and all manners of horrors in its wake. Meanwhile, from the Minneapolis general strike to the Gen Z revolutions, a revolutionary consciousness is being born among the masses around the world.
This consciousness will express itself one day or another in revolutionary explosions. We are building the Revolutionary Communist Party with the aim of bringing this coming revolution to victory and putting an end to the sick system of capitalism. To this end, we are urgently building a professional apparatus of full-time revolutionaries.
The winter leg of our 2026 fundraising campaign was a great step towards building this party, raising $260,000 out of our annual goal of $500,000. Thanks to these fundraising efforts, in January we were able to take on the first of our planned three hires for 2026: an organizer to oversee the growing work in Ontario outside of Toronto.
But we have more work to do. In particular, we need to strengthen our paper, Communist Revolution. The ruling class have their media—the whole media—which they use to deceive, demoralize, confuse and keep the workers from organizing in opposition to their rule. We need our own working-class media.
While we have greatly improved our paper’s quality and design in the last few years, we believe Communist Revolution has the potential to advance far, far more. Millions of people across Canada and Quebec are looking for revolutionary ideas.
But this requires more resources. To that end, the goal of our summer fundraiser is to raise $240,000 to finance two hires.
One area we need more resources is in the layout of the paper, which is currently being done by a single staff member. Therefore, the first hire will work on the paper design starting in May. This new hire will in turn help free up our best writers and editors so they can focus on helping us produce even more, and even better, articles.
Another area we can improve is in the use and distribution of the paper. Communist newspapers need to be available in every city, on every campus, in every neighborhood, in every workplace. To this end, we have already hired a new staff member as national paper organizer, dedicated to spreading the paper.
fAs revolutionary consciousness grows and people look for answers, we need to be there with answers to provide clarity and guidance. Growing our newspaper, as well as the rest of our media presence, is crucial to combat the lies of the Epstein class.
We still have a lot of work to do to get there. But both of these hires are vital to laying the foundation. And we can only afford them, as well as fund the rest of our operations, if we raise $240,000 in this fundraising campaign.
