What lesser evil?

In the mosque, landlords, realtors and speculators sit next to the workers, international students and poor refugees who they take advantage of. We do not all have the same ‘sense of justice’

At Friday prayers the cleric gave a sermon about the election.

He claimed that everyone there was united by a sense of justice, and that it was the duty of everyone to Vote Palestine, and choose whichever candidate is the “lesser evil”. Not voting would be a detriment to the cause of the Palestinians, he said, and any other solution would only create disunity and division.

But division already exists: class division.

In the mosque, local landlords, realtors and speculators sat next to the workers, international students and poor refugees who they take advantage of. We do not all have the same “sense of justice”

For my neighbours who fled poverty and political repression in Bangladesh under the Hasina government, which was supported by the Liberals, who is the “lesser evil”?

Every candidate in my riding has paid lip service to my community about Palestine, while doing nothing about it. In the same way, they have all made empty promises over the years for better living standards and affordable homes.

What choice is there for workers? Where is the anti-imperialist candidate we should all vote for?

We need a genuine party of the working class, and it must be built by us.
