For the first time ever, more than 3,600 workers at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board are on strike. These are not “paper-pushers.” They are the ones who face crushed limbs, shattered spines, broken workers left behind by Capitalism. And now, they’re being broken too.
Caseloads are through the roof. Staff are collapsing under the weight of suffering they’re told to file, manage, and forget. The reward? Hundreds of their jobs outsourced to a bargain-bin U.S. contractor notorious for lost files and privacy breaches. WSIB brags it’s saved $2 billion. Not a cent for the injured. Not a cent to lighten workloads. Every dollar goes back to the same bosses who maimed the workers in the first place. Victory to the strike. No peace with the butchers of labour.
