Victory to Kamloops Hudson’s Bay workers!

Since Dec. 10, Hudson’s Bay employees in Kamloops, British Columbia, represented by United Steelworkers Local 1-417, have been on strike in response to the company’s insulting $0.17 wage increase offer. 

B.C. transit workers set to strike

Between Jan. 22-24, 180 transit workers from the Coast Mountain Bus Company (CMBC) launched a 48-hour job action. CUPE 4500 representing Transit supervisors, indicated that if a deal cannot be reached by Friday Feb. 2, it will begin a 72-hour expanded strike. 

Saskatchewan Teachers Federation goes on strike

On Jan. 11, the Saskatchewan Teachers Federation (STF) voted in favour of strike action to demand an increase in wages and student funding. This was quickly followed by single day strikes on Jan. 16 and on Jan. 22, and rotating strikes beginning on Feb 1. Saskatchewan’s labour movement must mobilize in support of the STF! 

Oshawa Del Monte workers on strike: Fight the injunction!

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has issued an injunction against striking workers at the Fresh Del Monte distribution centre in Oshawa. 

The labour movement must unite behind the workers on the picket lines to fight this attack.
