Down with US imperialism – Defend the Cuban revolution – Workers of the world unite!

We are talking about nothing less than the complete restoration of a capitalist market economy in Cuba.

The indictment against Raúl Castro, for an incident which happened 30 years ago, is designed to send a very clear message: either you comply and submit to Washington’s diktats or else you will follow the same fate as Venezuelan President Maduro.

These are mafia-like tactics: gangsters visit you to offer protection for a fee; if you refuse to join their racket, they break your legs, trash your shop, or you end up riddled with bullets.

We must mobilise the world’s working class movement against Trump’s oil blockade, with all the forces at our disposal. At the same time it is important to discuss how we have reached this point.

Cuba can only count on its own people, but also on the peoples of the world; that is, the working class, the poor peasantry and the revolutionary youth of the world. This is not an abstract figure of speech, but a concrete question.

Trump’s aim is to beat Mexico into submission and to destroy the Cuban revolution. US imperialism believes that it is now, after 60 years, in a position to do so.

This is a recipe for clashes and conflicts, not only with Chinese interests, but eventually with the masses of Latin America, who are not likely to accept direct US imperialist bullying without fighting back.

The Revolutionary Communist International stands unconditionally for the defence of Venezuela and we will throw all our weight behind this movement.

This is an escalating campaign of US imperialist aggression against a sovereign country.
